The Sabri Ülker Center is committed to researching the molecular basis of metabolism, its interactions with nutrients, and the irregularities apparent during chronic metabolic diseases and ageing. All of these are undertaken with a long-term goal of translating the findings into new therapeutic directions and strategies to prevent and treat metabolic diseases such as diabetes, extending healthy life-expectancy. The second Sabri Ülker Metabolism and Life Symposium held at Harvard brought together numerous global experts investigating many aspects of metabolism in health and disease, as well as during the ageing process.
