Sabri Ülker Science Award

The Sabri Ülker Foundation offers an annual Science Award to a junior scientist of Turkish origin, , typically at the first stage of their independent careers, who has made an outstanding contribution to the broad field of metabolism, nutrition, food and health. The primary purpose of this award is to acknowledge the outstanding fundamental research of Turkish scientists working both in Türkiye and globally and, in so doing, to create a network of expertise, and a platform to share ideas and resources for the advancement of science. Türkiye has a vibrant scientific community and, by encouraging scientists of Turkish origin working elsewhere to interact with their colleagues based in Türkiye, the intention is to inspire scientific endeavours of the highest calibre and contribute to human welfare.

Professor Gokhan Hotamişligil chairs the judges of the award together with Dr Zeki Ziya Sozen. Also included are previous recipients of the award.
